The City of Anaheim held a Contractor Outreach Conference in advance of the release of the Invitation for Bids for the Shell and Enclosure Contract related to ARTIC Project. The conference was held on Thursday, May 5, 2011.
City Announces Plan for Public Art at ARTIC
The City of Anaheim is soliciting Statements of Qualification (SOQ) from artists interested in providing public art for ARTIC. The deadline for submission of SOQ’s is July 1, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Artists interested in submitting an SOQ are encouraged to attend a Pre-Submittal Conference to be held at the City of Anaheim on May 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm or by joining the webcast conference. The City of Anaheim is seeking a variety of potential artwork(s) to be included in the ARTIC Project. Budgets for the proposed artworks can range from $100,000 to $900,000.

The City of Anaheim will be soliciting construction bids from contractors for the Shell and Enclosure Contract related to ARTIC Project. A Contractor Outreach Conference in advance of the Invitation for Bids will be held at the City of Anaheim (Anaheim West Tower - Gordon Hoyt Conference Center - 2nd Floor 201 South Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92805) on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Contractors Show Interest in Early Procurement Process
The City received 11 responses from interested firms for the early procurement process for the ARTIC Terminal Shell and Enclosure Contract. Interested firms provided statements of qualifications to provide engineering and construction of the steel frame and cladding or skin for ARTIC. The steel frame includes all interior structures as well as the exterior shell for the building and concourse bridge.
In an effort to obtain responses from qualified bidders, the City released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for this work component in December 2010.

City of Anaheim Issues Request for Qualifications for ARTIC Intermodal Terminal Shell & Enclosure Contract
The City of Anaheim (City) is soliciting Statements of Qualification from vendors (Respondents) who manufacture and construct ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) enclosures and curtain walls for the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). The City will pre-qualify vendors for this specific project work and if pre-qualified, vendors will be invited to submit bids in spring 2011. Qualifications are due to the City by 4 p.m. PST on Thurs., Jan. 27, 2011
A pre-submittal conference will beheld Thurs, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. PST in the Anaheim City Council Chambers, 200 South Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA. Attendance at the pre-submittal conference is not mandatory, but recommended.

Anaheim City Council Certifies ARTIC EIR
Anaheim City Council Certifies Environmental Impact Report for the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC)
At the September 28 City Council meeting, City Council members certified the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and approved a General Plan Amendment reclassifying Douglass Road, south of Katella Avenue from a local street to a secondary arterial. On September 13, the City of Anaheim Planning Commission conducted a public hearing and recommended the items be approved by the City Council.

Anaheim City Council to Hold ARTIC Public Hearing September 28
On September 13, 2010 the City of Anaheim Planning Commission approved resolutions recommending City Council certification of the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) Environmental Impact Report and City Council approval of a related General Plan amendment reclassifying Douglass Road, south of Katella Avenue from a local Street to a secondary arterial.
The Anaheim City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. to consider the ARTIC Environmental Impact Report and related General Plan amendment. Members of the public are invited to attend and give testimony. The ARTIC Environmental Impact Report is available at www.anaheim.net/planning.

City Announces Public Art Shortlist
Seventy three artist/artist teams responded to the City of Anaheim's the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Public Art services at the ARTIC project. Ten artists/artist teams have been shortlisted and have been asked to further develop their concepts and submit a proposal by September 19, 2011. The City plans to complete its evaluation and commission one or more artists in late October 2011.
